Rum World Probably Not “Wild West” As I once asserted, when it comes to standards, practices and authenticity. (Richard Seale of the famed Foursquare Distillery in Barbados thinks differently.) But in the meantime, the rum world yes Full of gimmicks and marketing gimmicks. seabed aging, celebrity connections, stylish bottle, X-rated Various rum producers use this trick to dress up their always subpar blends. You know, to lure you into buying them. Which brings us to the Goslings Spirited Seas…
good name for gosling
Now, Goslings is not a brand that people would think would be mean. This is the brand that was born black mark. Responsible for the same brand darkness and stormone of the only copyrighted cocktails in the world, Family Reserve Old Rum That’s all kinds of sacred.
Goslings are purebred. Its rum-making tradition dates back to the 1850s Bermuda. This isn’t a question of unreliable rum. No Johnny has been craving a bit of energy to attract attention lately.

Aging at sea?
However, we also have Spirited Seas, a rum that, according to Goslings, is…”done in the Atlantic Ocean?” Well, what the hell is going on? That What does it mean? From the Little Goose website…
Vintage bourbon barrels are filled with a premium blend of premium, aged dark Bermuda rum and then loaded onto the ship, where the rum is aged for an additional year at sea, sailing back and forth from Bermuda to the mid-Atlantic. Storms and sea breezes have a surprising effect on the mix. The rum interacts with the charred American white oak in each wave, extracting all the flavors in the barrel, resulting in an elegant and complex rum…
I have to say, it all sounds a bit contrived to me. Of course, for a brand like Goslings, this seems unnecessary. I mean, aging at sea wouldn’t have any real tangible scientific benefits, right…?
Make a mistake…Wrong! !
It turns out that the movement of the ocean helps spirits blend, mature and develop their unique flavours. Good people are here triple rum This has been proven over the years. maybe if patrick There’s more hype around them This long-ago article about the German Rum Festival 2011 I wouldn’t be so skeptical about Spirited Seas.
However, even after learning about the legality of sailing into aging, I still had my doubts. I mean, is this thing any good?
answer: Yes! !
Goslings Spirited Seas Tasting Notes
The first thing to like about Goslings Spirited Seas is its slightly elevated alcohol content. If you’re like me and like your rum a little more exaggerated, then at least that’s the first thing you’ll enjoy. We’re not talking about super powerful flamethrowers like this J. Ray or rum fireplease note. However, Spirited Seas is 44% ABV (88 proof), which is perfect for many of my favorite rums right now.
As for the taste and overall drinking experience, I have to say, Spirited Seas is impressive.
On the nose, the smokiness of charred oak dominates. It doesn’t smell sweet and any spices are very understated. The first taste is all about elegance. As on the nose, the sweetness is under control, allowing the rich rum flavor to shine. Hints of caramel and spice further elevate the rum and bring it into focus, while the surprisingly dry and smooth overall nature of this particular goose blend makes it approachable even with a slightly elevated alcohol content.
To be sure, Goslings Spirited Seas is not the kind of rum that will stay with me for very long. It’s great to enjoy from time to time and share with friends. With its nautical roots, I think Spirited Seas is particularly suitable for enjoyment on the water.
Hmm…do you have a friend with a boat who wants to have a bottle with me? Let me know in the comments below…
