Western Sydney International Airport (WSI) is 100 days away from its first passenger flight.
Jetstar Airways will The first batch of services will be launched on October 25followed by Air New Zealand day two and Singapore Airlines November 23in partnership with QantasLink, will start Embraer E190 service in March. An Air New Zealand flight from Auckland will be the first international flight to land.

“Given Australia and New Zealand are each other’s largest inbound markets and these numbers are increasing year on year, now is a great time to strengthen trans-Tasman connectivity,” WSI chief executive Simon Hickey said.
“Thanks to our efficient digital check-in experience, passengers will be able to easily move through our state-of-the-art terminal, enjoy shopping through our retail partner Lagardère AWPL, and relax in comfortable seats at the gate with convenient charging ports and stunning views of the nearby Blue Mountains.
“Final operational preparations continue every day and with just 100 days until our inaugural international flight, we can’t wait to welcome travelers to Sydney’s new 24-hour global gateway.”
Air New Zealand will operate three flights per week between Auckland and WSI, using A320 and A321 aircraft on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Air New Zealand Australia general manager Kathryn O’Brien said WSI would provide a vital connection to the airline’s trans-Tasman network.
“The Western Sydney team has built a world-class terminal that will provide our customers with an exceptional travel experience and strengthen business and tourism links between New Zealand and Australia,” she said.
“Flying directly from Western Sydney to the Auckland hub provides Sydneysiders with greater choice and convenience when traveling across the Tasman.
“These flights are perfectly timed to connect with many of our Pacific Island destinations, North America and our 20 domestic ports flying across New Zealand. This makes Western Sydney a great new starting point for international travel.”
Hickey told media earlier this week that the airline was Seeing strong demand Air New Zealand has confirmed its initial flights.
“Bookings are steadily increasing as more customers realize the benefits of flying to and from Western Sydney Airport and we’re delighted to have landed within 100 days,” a spokesperson said.
While Singapore Airlines (SIA) cannot confirm exact booking figures due to commercial sensitivities, a spokesperson told Qantas it “continues to see healthy passenger demand” across Sydney.
“SIA remains committed to working closely with airport and industry partners to support the development of services at Western Sydney International (WSI) and the long-term growth of the airport,” the spokesperson said.
“With the introduction of daily return services to WSI from 23 November 2026, SIA will offer five daily services to the Sydney market year-round, complementing SIA’s existing four daily services to Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport.
“The new daily flights will add 2,121 weekly seats in each direction, bringing the total number of weekly seats on Singapore Airlines Sydney flights to 12,334 in each direction.
“This demonstrates our commitment to enhanced connectivity to and from Sydney, a key market for the Singapore Airlines Group. The launch of WSI is designed to provide greater choice and convenience for travelers in Greater Sydney and beyond.”
WSI will launch its first cargo service and conduct test flights on July 27 Already started July 13th.
