Best Airbnb Experiences in Paris

Best Airbnb Experiences in ParisBest Airbnb Experiences in Paris
There are many trekking tour companies there Paris. I’ve taken hundreds of photos (I review my favorite travel companies in this post). Besides formal travel, there’s another thing I love to do in Paris: Airbnb experiences.

Airbnb experiences are like the holy grail of travel: they’re unique, off the beaten path, and run by locals who just want to share what they love. They are not cookie-cutter hikes or activities led by umbrella-toting guides. i absolutely love Airbnb Experience. It’s one of my favorite things to do in any city, and frankly I don’t think enough travelers do it. Whenever I poll them, half the people usually say they’ve never heard of them!

Now, I introduce them to you and urge you to add them to your itinerary for your next visit to Paris. There are tons of Airbnb experiences in Paris, I’ve probably done them 20 to 25 times. Here is my list of the top Airbnb experiences in Paris:

Rediscovering Jacqueline Mavar

Jacqueline Mavar was an Impressionist painter who dated Matisse and influenced Picasso, but has since been largely forgotten by history. This exclusive gallery tour, hosted by Paris-born curator Camille, showcases her family’s 40-year effort to collect Marval’s art and showcase her legacy to the world. She takes you on a tour of their gallery, telling you Mawar’s life story and the history behind each piece. I knew nothing about Mavar before this and it was really interesting to learn her story and see her beautiful paintings. She is very talented. Climax the experience with champagne on the secluded terrace. All in all it was a fantastic experience getting to know a forgotten artist in a beautiful setting. Additionally, Camille is well integrated into the Paris art scene and can give you advice on which galleries and temporary exhibitions to visit.

Sample French wine and cheese in a hidden shop

This is a stunning and intimate wine and cheese tasting hosted by certified expert Erwan. In this cozy, non-classroom atmosphere, you’ll taste six unique French wines paired with six cheeses and fresh bread. Erwan shares the story behind each bottle, making the experience both educational and enjoyable. I’ve taken many wine and cheese courses in Paris and this was one of the best. The wines and cheeses are super unique and delicious, and Erwan really gives you a detailed yet easy-to-understand overview of French wines and cheeses. He was very personable and funny and I think this was one of the best wine and cheese experiences in Paris.

French food and wine experience

If you want something a little more high-end, try the experience at Greg Marchand’s Altro Frenchie. He is the famous chef on Chef’s Table. Enjoy a glass of sparkling aperitif on the Frenchie Caviste’s terrace, before the head sommelier guides you through a tasting of three unique wines from the cellar. You’ll then head next door for a chef-prepared tasting lunch. I think you get a lot of value for the price. You start with four glasses of wine, cheese and a piece of bread, followed by a generous tasting menu (six courses), with more wine. If you’re looking for a high-end fine dining experience, this is really great value.

The Secret of the Descendants of the Eiffel Tower

In this experience, you’ll travel to the base of the Eiffel Tower with filmmaker Savin Yeatman-Eiffel, a direct descendant of Gustave Eiffel, to see its architecture through the eyes of his family. You’ll uncover the scandalous debate surrounding its creation and view rare family photos, sketches and heirlooms from the Eiffel Tower’s private archives. I thought this was a very interesting way to learn about the Eiffel Tower. Not only do you get the historical information that other tours will give you, but you also get more of an inside family perspective that you definitely won’t find anywhere else. (notes: You will not ascend the tower on this tour. )

Black Presence in Paris: A Historical Journey

This is a wonderful tour that introduces you to the contribution of black people in France, a subject rarely covered on many standard historical walking tours. Beginning at the Pantheon, host Bin Cady shares the lives of pioneers such as Josephine Baker, Felix and Eugenie Eboue, as well as the lives of former slaves who defeated Napoleon. Along the way, you’ll discover the influence of black women writers at the Sorbonne, then end outside the Palais de Luxembourg, where you’ll hear the stories of pioneering black leaders like Severiano de Heredia and Gaston Monerville. I learned a lot on this trip and X was a very engaging and interesting tour guide. He used to work in an opera house so has a lot of insight into seeing performances throughout the city.

Inside the first microbrewery in Paris

I thought it was an excellent experience that ticked all the boxes. It’s unique (the first microbrewery in Paris), located in an area of the city that most tourists don’t visit, and led by a passionate local (owner Antoine). Antoine tells you his story, the story of Parisian microbreweries, their brewing process and what they sell and why. He was funny, entertaining, and told great stories. We also tasted very good beers. It was a 5-star experience and an example of what makes an Airbnb experience so special.
