mamba
happy world Mamba is a DH Morgan super coaster that has been operating at the theme park since the late 1990s. By some measures, it is the tallest roller coaster in the park.
It features a traditional front-to-back style layout, including several large floating weightlessness-inducing hills, an intense ground-hugging 580° spiral on the far end, and a return leg built from a series of air-time-filled bunny hops.
For a steel coaster that’s now aging, it’s surprisingly smooth and provides an excellent ride. Until 2022, there were aggressive mid-course brakes behind the spirals, resulting in a jarring difference between Act One and Act Two, but now these brakes have been disabled, reportedly resulting in a more powerful finale.
World of Fun is perhaps one of the most underrated of all of Cedar Fair’s legacy theme parks, certainly a fraction of the chain’s in the first quarter of this decade, but with great rides like the Mamba in its roller coaster lineup, it’s well worth a visit for the spectacular roller coaster thrills.
