South American teams take action!

The rocky path leading to Mulas (Max Bond)

Max Bond reported from Aconcagua that they had descended to the Plaza de Mulas base camp at about 13,800 feet, on the other side of the mountain from where they started (the “360 Route”). Now they are enjoying the thick air and delicious food and drinks, and plan to hike out of the Hocones Valley tomorrow and return to Mendoza in the evening.

In Mexico, Tyler Nachand reports that the Orizaba team had a nice break between visits to Puebla and climbs in Tlachichuca,

Dinner at Tlachichuca (Tyler Nachand)

Now heading back up the mountain. Today, they will drive a 4×4 vehicle to the Piedra Grande base camp at an altitude of about 14,000 feet, and plan to climb Orizaba from the mountain tomorrow.

Best wishes to all teams!
