The last progress carousel before it closes and what closes next?

Why now?

we ask London On why Disney might trigger a carousel refresh now. When Villain Land and Piston Peak open at Magic Kingdom, all signs point to capacity being needed! The expected reopening date will help divert some traffic along the border once the new land debuts. In addition to just needing a place for guests to go, Lane agreed the rides needed updating. What happens next?

John, Sarah, Patty, Jimmy, Grandma, Grandpa, Rover and even Uncle Orville will all be back when the attraction reopens next year. Disney announced the following scenes from the new carousel:

• 1969 moon landing.
• Halloween night 1985 ~We can’t wait to see what Ryan discovers about this scene. Do you remember the date when he spent so much time studying the first scene in the current Carousel of Progress? No? You can listen to the entire thing here! Side note, if Disney doesn’t give us gummy bear merchandise ~ they were huge in 1985 and one of the most coveted Halloween costumes ~ then what’s the point? oh! Uncle Orville is back (still?) in the bathroom!
