Attention aircraft watchers! With just over two months left until #SpotLAX2025, we have some details for you!From September 12th to 14th, we will meet again at Los Angeles International Airport. We know many of you are eager to start planning this year’s events, and below we have some exciting news for you.
If you’ve never been to SpotLAX, it’s a weekend gathering of plane spotters and aviation enthusiasts that we’ve been hosting since 2013.
This year, we’re once again partnering with Brett Snyder and Cranky Dorkfest. This annual gathering will be held on Saturday, September 13th.You can learn more through this link. You may want to sign up for email notifications while you’re there. Brett often hosts additional events that weekend, which are announced on the blog. In addition to Cranky Dorkfest, you can join us and other watchers for dinner at The Proud Bird on Saturday, September 13th, and at Donuts on the Hill sponsored by JetTip on Sunday, September 14th. If that’s not enough, we’ll also be hosting group aircraft spotting events throughout the weekend, so have your cameras ready!

The amazing views overlooking LAX from the rooftop of the H Hotel Los Angeles are truly unparalleled. From the 12th floor, you can see almost the entire northern section of the airport, as well as many incoming aircraft. Then there’s the rooftop lounge seating, where many discussions about the minutiae of commercial aviation take place. Lest we forget, the smell of burning jet fuel and rubber is always in the air. Additionally, the hotel’s central location provides easy access to various other airplane viewing spots in the area. For most of the weekend, only hotel guests have access to the rooftop deck. For the third year in a row, we’re hosting the SpotLAX Opening Night Party on Friday night with our friends at Airline Videos Live. The event has been extremely popular over the past two years, attracting more than 200 aviation enthusiasts to the H Hotel’s rooftop deck. This is a great way to enjoy a few hours on the rooftop without spending the night in a hotel. Just like last year, our friends at AVL will be live streaming from the rooftop that evening and will serve as our emcees. Food and beverages will be available for purchase. We will also be hosting a model airplane raffle like last year.
Tickets for this year’s gala will be$15and will be on saleSaturday, July 19. Paid admission is required this year for all attendees, including hotel guests.
