Bethesda, Maryland——Marriott International Hotel Ask Bonvoy announced the beta launch of Ask Bonvoy, a new conversational natural language search experience designed to help travelers more intuitively discover destinations at Marriott Bonvoy’s approximately 10,000 hotels in 146 countries and territories. Ask Bonvoy is designed to help travelers search for accommodation and plan trips using conversational language, delivering customized results.
Ask Bonvoy will be launched in beta and will initially be available in U.S. English on Marriott.com and in the Marriott Bonvoy mobile app for iOS and Android to select Marriott Bonvoy members and registered Marriott Bonvoy users. This careful deployment allows Ask Bonvoy to gradually scale to accommodate real-time feedback and improve performance. The experience is scheduled for full global release later this year.
leadership speech
“For nearly a century, Marriott has embraced change to become the industry’s leading innovator,” said Anthony Capuano, president and CEO of Marriott International. “Ask Bonvoy builds on that legacy by bringing conversational AI to the heart of travelers exploring Marriott’s extraordinary global portfolio. Today’s beta launch is a strong example of our continued investment in technology to make travel planning simpler, more intuitive and more personal. “
“Travelers are increasingly looking for faster, more intuitive ways to search, explore and plan travel,” said Drew Pinto, executive vice president and chief revenue and technology officer at Marriott International. “Built from Marriott’s own data and powered by the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, Ask Bonvoy is designed to modernize the needs of travelers at every moment of their journey, whether they know exactly when and where they want to travel or are just starting to explore.” Our measured rollout allows us to learn directly from our customers how they prefer to search so we can make improvements and adjustments ahead of our global expansion. As Marriott continues to change the future of travel, we’re excited to launch Ask Bonvoy. “
Other details
Powered by Marriott’s proprietary artificial intelligence architecture, Ask Bonvoy interprets natural language search queries, identifies members’ travel purposes and provides users with relevant and curated results from thousands of Marriott properties around the world. Responses are based entirely on Marriott-owned, verified hotel data rather than open web content, providing greater reliability for guests looking to learn about hotel features and amenities.
Ask Bonvoy is designed to complement existing search functionality on Marriott.com and the Marriott Bonvoy app. Members using the beta version of Ask Bonvoy can continue to search using traditional date and location filters, while also having the option to explore destinations and properties with more conversational prompts, such as travel purpose, location attributes and desired amenities such as dining, spa and golf options. Once a user finalizes their stay on the Ask Bonvoy platform, the experience will be seamlessly handed over to Marriott’s existing booking capabilities to complete the booking. As Marriott continues to refine the Ask Bonvoy experience, over time the model will support loyalty points-based searches.
